Hello,

On Thursday, I taught a Semi-Private class on paper piecing.  I had two fabulous students who wanted to learn the pattern Indian Summer.

Wonderful batiks all stacked and ready to cut.

All cut and sorted.

Some of the trimmings.

Look at these great binder clips that were used.  If you are wondering why binder clips... These keep the stacks of cut fabric in order from the way that they were cut.  Great little tip!

Organized in the order that they will be sewn.

Oh yeah... here is my sample and what the quilt will look like when done.  It is a great beginner quilt, no curves yet you get perfect sharp points!!

These are all lined up and ready to go too!!

Roberta is trimming her blocks up.

Success!! These gorgeous units were done very easily!  Now at the next class we will be working on their borders, but they have to finish their homework first!

You can find this pattern and the kit with the exact same fabrics that are shown in my sample by clicking here.

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was a fantastic day at the Flights and Fantasies Quilt Show.  It was the first day the vendors were open for sales and we had a great crowd of people at the museum.

Let's take a peek at the day...

Here I am with Deb in the booth ready for all the quilters.

I know I am moving here... but I had special guest with me helping in my trunk show... my lovely daughter!

Marie Bostwick ROCKED the house with her lecture... it was packed.

Look at the line waiting for her autograph.

Peg from Sew Fresh Fabrics in her booth looking lovely!

Mary from the Quilted Ewe doing a little wool felted.

Barbara from 6 Gable Designs.

A little spinning in the Quilted Ewe Booth.

Nancy from Flew the Coop Designs.

Cathy and Allen of The Quilt Basket

Tina with Lorna in the Bear Paw Studio booth.

The gals of Udderly Simple Designs.

Yummy hand dyes in the Dyeing 2 Sew Booth.

But oddly enough while the quilters enjoyed the booths, one of the best attractions was...

the food Truck!!! Chris from Soup 'R Samich made some of the BEST food!! YUM!!  He is already planning on coming back next year.

Anyway, today is the last day of the show, so come out and see the quilts and the vendors!!

Meet the Exhibitors

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday was a fantastic day at the show.  We were busy and many of the people that made some of the quilts in the show came for a visit!!  So I had the opportunity to take some photos of them with their work!

First up Mary Beth, she made this gorgeous Lollypop Trees quilt from all Kaffe Fassett Fabrics and OH MY I love it!!

Dottie, also one of our lovely volunteers, made this gorgeous Be Attitudes quilt.

The ever talented Karen, another lovely volunteer, designed this quilt and also used a ton of Kaffe!

I was especially happy to meet Renee!  We have been friends on FB for a long time and it was a pleasure meeting her and her husband.  I could have talked with her for ages.  Just as nice in person as online.  Any way, here she is with the quilt she made of her son.

And this lovely quilt of her mother.... I LOVE the green and she even used a little bling to make it sparkle.

This is the second year that Dottie designed a beautiful poster board of how quilters are givers and this one is GORGEOUS!  Thanks, Dottie!

This is what it is all about... The happy quilters keep coming!!

Click here to find out more details about the show.  It is open through September 22, 2013
